Miya Childs

Miya Childs is a licensed Cosmetologist in the Overland Park, Kansas area. She has been offering customized ‘Hairapy’ sessions for over 18 years. Miya has always been an eclectic and creative soul. Being able to transform something and make it even better than it was before has always been her passion; whether it be behind the chair or in front of the canvas. Growing up, she was involved in many artistic endeavors including photography, jewelry making, singing and drawing. While unsure of which path to take, she chose to dive into Cosmetology. “I felt like doing hair was a way to not only express my creativity, but also a way to make people feel good about themselves.” Miya chose to do her training at Dudley Beauty College in Chicago, Illinois. It was there that she developed a better understanding of working with multicultural hair textures. Studio MC is now located inside Wild Roots KC. It is a cozy hair salon with a relaxed boho vibe, a safe and judgement free environment, with a collection of talented stylists.
